As far as I can remember, art has been an integral part of my life. When I was a child, my mother was an Arts Education Major at Seton Hill, and had ensured I was always able to get my hands into anything creative I showed interest in. She had introduced me to various art classes and art camps, and would always initiate some sort of creative activity with me at home any chance we got. Fast forward to middle school, I took my first 'real' art class that was beyond the crafts of elementary art I had experienced previously. I was captivated by the world art could transport me to. As for high school, I had spent most of my time in and out of school making some sort of drawings, paintings, 3D work or even just a fun craft. As a graphic design major now, with minors in Studio 2D and 3D, I could never imagine another life for myself. Especially one without art.
