Charcoal on Toned Paper
This piece is a charcoal study of a plaster cast found in the drawing room. Completing it provided valuable insight into working across the full value range—from deep blacks to highlights—while also exploring how charcoal interacts with toned paper. Beyond the technical aspects, this study helped me better understand the structure and features of the male face, making it a useful exercise in both observation and rendering.
